Amy Gutman, MD, FACEP, is an emergency physician, educator, and CEO/Founder of ToughLoveMD, known for translating frontline medicine into high-impact, no-nonsense education. She began her career in EMS and fire rescue in 1987, building a foundation of service that still drives her work today. Board certified in Emergency Medicine since 2008, she holds fellowships in prehospital care and resuscitation, with additional certifications in maritime medicine and leadership. Dr. Gutman currently works as a locums ER physician, serving rural and underserved communities. Her career spans EMS, aeromedical, maritime, research, EDs, and ICUs across the U.S., Bermuda, and the Caribbean. A former medical director and associate professor, she is passionate about cutting through noise, sharpening clinical judgment, and improving patient outcomes through education that actually changes practice.
