Elizabeth is the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems, Director, Trauma, and Injury Specialty Care Program. Elizabeth is responsible for system oversite for Adult/Pediatric Trauma/Burn, Hand/Upper-extremity injury, and Eye Injury. Elizabeth has 42 years of frontline medical care experience including experience as a paramedic, emergency medicine nurse, flight and critical transport nurse, neurotrauma critical care nurse, and trauma program director of operations. She enjoys clinical medicine, teaching, mentoring all medical disciplines, and statewide trauma system development. Elizabeth is passionate about serving the needs of people across the world including missions in Mozambique and Haiti. Elizabeth has served on the board of directors for the WV Diabetes Camp for more than 30 years, and serves as part of the medical team during camp.
