Faculty Agenda

Thomas G. Spape is a dynamic fire and EMS leader with over 35 years of experience across career, volunteer, and combination departments in Ohio. Known for engaging, humorous, and emotionally grounded presentations, he brings the realities of life behind the sirens to life, honoring the resilience required of first responders. Tom has held key leadership roles, including Fire Chief/Acting Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief, and currently serves as Public Educator and Life Safety Inspector for Brunswick Hills Township Fire Department. He has conducted thousands of inspections and trainings, developed the Fire Safety Inspector Program, created public safety TV shows, and innovated tools supporting under-represented groups in the fire service. An MBA and Ohio Fire Chiefs Executive Officer graduate, Tom also contributes to his community through historic preservation, youth sports, HOA leadership, and volunteer service.
