John Croushorn, MD, FACEP, is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and the Chief Medical Officer of Compression Works, LLC in Birmingham, Alabama. He is the inventor of the Abdominal Aortic and Junctional Tourniquet and has extensive experience in trauma care, operational medicine, and medical innovation. Dr. Croushorn previously served as President of the Alabama Chapter of ACEP, on the faculty of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Georgia Health Sciences University, and as the command surgeon for Task Force 185, Army Combat Aviation, in Iraq. He also served as a lead physician during Hurricane Katrina and has supported U.S. Army special operations and Department of Justice operational medicine teams. He is widely recognized for his contributions to hemorrhage control and for advancing technologies that improve survival in prehospital trauma care.
