Retired Chief Juan Carlos Cardona has 33 years of experience, 26 years with the Coral Springs–Parkland Fire Department in Florida where he served as the EMS Division Chief. He holds a bachelor's degree in Professional Management from Nova Southeastern University and an MPA from Barry University. A former member of the NAEMT Board of Directors, serves on the International Paramedic Registry (IPR), a member of the Editorial Board of EMS World Magazine & Conference, and serves on the Editorial Board of RED LATAM International Conference and the APH LATAM Journal of Prehospital Medicine.
His professional experience includes leading medical operations during mass casualty incidents, developing community health programs, managing large EMS organizations, and providing bilingual, international consulting on emergency preparedness, organizational leadership, and high-threat incident response in many countries.
