Alex Protzman serves as Deputy Chief of Riley County EMS in Manhattan, Kansas. He has been involved in emergency medical services since 2009 and has extensive experience in clinical education, protocol development, and EMS operations. Throughout his career, Alex has been dedicated to advancing provider knowledge and performance, with a particular focus on continuing education and professional development. Alex serves on the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) Education Committee and is Co-Chair of the Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) Committee. He is also an instructor and affiliate faculty for numerous NAEMT and American Heart Association programs. A frequent presenter at local, regional, and national conferences, Alex has delivered educational sessions on a variety of EMS topics, including agitated delirium, acute cardiac care, emergent neurological conditions, and mental health resilience. He is passionate about advancing the EMS profession through education, leadership, and evidence-based patient care.
