2026 Sessions

Recalibrating the Instructor: Shifting from Teaching to Mentoring

Once upon a time, teaching EMS meant standing at the front of the room, talking at a sea of students, and calling it “connection.” Those days are over. Today’s learners crave authenticity, not authority—and the best instructors have evolved into mentors who guide, challenge, and inspire. This session is a candid, energetic look at how shifting from “teaching” to “mentoring” transforms both classroom culture and instructor purpose. Through stories, reflection, and a few laughs, we’ll explore what happens when we trade command for connection and rediscover the spark that made us want to teach in the first place.

Because the goal isn’t to just produce competent medics—it’s to grow confident, curious professionals who remember who lit the fire in them!
