With over 30 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services, Steven Cohen is a distinguished leader in clinical quality and paramedicine. As the Senior Director of Clinical Quality for RWJBarnabas Health Mobile Health, he oversees clinical excellence across Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Specialty Care Transport, and Emergency Medical Dispatch.

Beyond his regional leadership, Steve is a prominent figure in national EMS advocacy and education. He is a commissioner and past Chair of the American College of Paramedic Executives (ACPE) and serves on the Board of Directors for the National EMS Quality Alliance (NEMSQA). A dedicated educator, he is also a National Faculty member and Primary Instructor for NEMSMA's Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP).

EMS Officer Credentialing information and Exam Prep Course offered by the American College of Paramedic Executives (ACPE)

The ACPE EMS Officer Credentialing course is a comprehensive, scenario-based program designed to master the 7 Pillars of EMS Officer Competency. Developed by a diverse group of industry experts, this curriculum provides the essential framework for the Paramedic Officer Credentialing program, bridging the gap between clinical expertise and effective leadership. The course will provide immersive simulations and expert guidance on the pillars, the written exam, the oral boards, and the portfolio submission process.

Mike brings over 40 years of public service experience, having led operations across a broad range of environments. His expertise spans across Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, and the Fire Service. Mike has responded to hundreds of major incidents around the globe. His operational excellence includes service as a Tactical Paramedic with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team and as a Flight Paramedic at a Level 1 Trauma Center. Mike served a decade as State Director of Emergency Medical Services for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. His leadership and influence extend to national and academic circles. A respected voice in the field, Mike has delivered keynote presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. He currently serves as a Senior Consultant with Fitch & Associates.
