Lucian Mirra

William Brady, MD, FACEP, FAAEM is a practicing emergency physician at the University of Virginia (UVA); he is residency trained in both emergency medicine and internal medicine. He is a tenured professor of Emergency Medicine, Medicine (Cardiovascular), and Nursing, Executive Vice Chair, and the David A. Harrison Distinguished Educator at the UVA Health System. At UVA, he serves as the chair of the Medical Center’s Resuscitation Committee and Medical Advisor to UVA’s Department of Safety and Security; in the community, he functions as the operational medical director of Albemarle County Fire Rescue and Medical Advisor to the Charlottesville-Albemarle-UVA Emergency Communications Center. He is the editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Emergency Medicine and an examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Lucian Mirra Ed.D., NRP, has over two decades of experience as an EMS provider, leader, and educator. He has served as a firefighter/paramedic, EMS supervisor, emergency management coordinator, and paramedic program director. He presents across the country on a variety of EMS, education, and emergency management topics. He holds a doctor of education degree from the University of Virginia where he researched the impact of teaching effectiveness in EMS classrooms and has an academic interest in how fire and EMS instructors are trained. He is currently the EMS Coordinator for Albemarle County Fire Rescus, and is an Instructor of Emergency Medicine at UVA Health and an Adjunct Professor of Leadership at Christopher Newport University.
