Michael Levy, MD, FAEMS, FACP, is the Chief Medical Officer for Anchorage Areawide EMS and Medical Director for multiple EMS agencies across Alaska, including the Anchorage Fire Department and the Kenai Peninsula Borough. Based in Anchorage, he is an Affiliate Associate Professor with the University of Alaska and has more than three decades of experience as an emergency medicine and EMS physician. Dr. Levy earned his BA from the University of Colorado Boulder and his MD from Northwestern University before completing a combined Internal Medicine–Emergency Medicine residency at McGaw Medical Center. A past president of NAEMSP, he is an internationally recognized speaker on resuscitation, EMS systems, rural EMS, and high-performance CPR, and has held key leadership roles in national guideline development and EMS quality improvement.
