Amanda Berra is a nationally recognized healthcare expert and research executive. She is a founder and EVP of Union Healthcare Insight, where she oversees Union’s executive education and custom research work, including the Strategy Bootcamp series. She has a passion for helping people to fully understand and constructively engage with the wide array of economic, policy, business, technical, and philosophical topics that together make up health care strategy. She is known for insightfulness, big-picture perspective, and a forthright and accessible communication style.
Prior to helping found Union, Amanda spent nearly 20 years holding various senior leadership roles at Advisory Board. Her principal areas of expertise include general market strategy for healthcare organizations, board governance, clinical quality improvement, and provider partnerships. She began her career as a newspaper reporter and editor before being drawn to healthcare strategy and research. She holds a BA from Middlebury College and an MA from Georgetown University. When not working, you can find her spending time with her family, helping lead a scout troop of middle and high-school aged girls, and doing as many outdoor activities as possible.
