Preparing for the Mental Health of Our Next Generation: MINDSET

In today's service, there is a focus on the mental health and stability of our providers, but are we preparing these students during training for the impact that trauma could have on their ability to provide the service? The MINDSET program concentrates on students in fields that will be impacted by trauma. This can be used by new employees or even a refresher of mental wellness for our seasoned veterans. The presentation is based on a video program that has just been completed to be disseminated throughout Florida and other states that request the program to be shown in all EMS, fire, police academies and nursing schools around the country. Students are often a forgotten piece following a traumatic call or event, but this program creates the MINDSET that it is never too early to be aware of the impacts of trauma.
