I've Forgotten More Than You Know!

We have all heard the saying, "I've forgotten more than you know;" however, often overlook the latter part of that statement, "We've always done it this way." As new EMS professionals, we are often paired with senior or experienced professionals to help us grow in our career and increase our knowledge and experience. While this may seem like a great way to learn, many times, experienced providers overlook the need for continuing education, specifically with new evidence based medicine and up-to-date practices. During this lecture we will discuss the hurdles we see with EMS professionals who overlook the importance of continuing education, how to overcome complacency in EMS, and how we can, as a profession, engage the stagnant learners.
