Don’t Give Up on Treatment in Place and Telehealth!: A Guide to a Successful Treatment in Place with Telehealth Model

With the early completion of ET3, does treatment in place and telehealth still have a role in EMS? The answer is yes. Limitations of hospital capacity as well as fluctuations of community resources compel us as EMS providers to offer a more appropriate solution for low acuity complaints through treatment on scene. In this presentation, we will lay out the framework for an efficient and effective treatment in place with telehealth service, using real world experiences from a time tested program. We will also address the common challenges of program implementation as well as highlight the benefits at the individual and community levels. Treatment in place and prehospital telehealth is not dead.
