5:15 PM - 6:15 PM
Session Description: Behavioral health organizations face sustained pressure—high acuity, workforce shortages, regulatory demands, and constant operational change. Many teams respond with reactive fixes (new policies, more training, reminders to comply), but those efforts rarely improve culture, burnout, or retention unless underlying systems are redesigned.
This session translates High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles into practical steps for behavioral healthcare settings. Participants will learn how to apply reliability behaviors—such as identifying weak signals, learning from near-misses, improving communication and handoffs, reducing process variation in high-risk workflows, and strengthening psychological safety—to reduce preventable stressors that contribute to burnout and turnover.
