From Access to Outcomes: The Technology Layer Powering the Next Era of Behavioral Health Technology Broadly

As behavioral health organizations scale, technology is no longer “nice to have”—it’s becoming the operating layer that supports access, consistency, and proof. This keynote explores how leading operators are using technology and AI in practical ways across the business: strengthening intake and scheduling workflows, reducing friction in documentation and utilization management, improving revenue cycle visibility, and building credible outcomes measurement that payers and capital providers trust. Attendees will leave with a grounded view of what’s actually working, where organizations are seeing real ROI, and how to evaluate technology investments that support growth without adding complexity.

Valuation Expectations vs Market Reality: Bridging the Gap Between Owners and Buyers

This panel tackles one of the biggest sources of friction in today’s market: valuation expectations that don’t hold up under scrutiny. We’ll cover misaligned assumptions, add-backs that survive diligence versus those that don’t, risk-adjusted EBITDA, and why different buyers price the same asset differently. We’ll also discuss how buyers increasingly evaluate the “operating system” behind the numbers—data quality, revenue cycle visibility, outcomes measurement, and tech-enabled scalability—and when technology strengthens valuation versus when it’s discounted as unproven. Attendees will leave with a clearer, market-realistic view of value drivers and how to avoid disappointment at the LOI and diligence stages.

Service Line Cycles: What Worked, What Broke, and What’s Next (2026–27)

Behavioral health has seen multiple “hot” service lines surge—then cool—often driven by changes in payer behavior, regulation, referral dynamics, and reimbursement reality. This panel takes a candid look at the last decade of service line cycles (what scaled well, what became fragile, and what operators wish they had seen sooner), then pressure-tests what may be next in 2027—from stabilization models and specialty tracks to newer demand areas and emerging modalities. You’ll hear perspectives across operations, revenue cycle, and payer strategy on the real drivers behind profitability and durability: network participation, medical necessity and utilization management, documentation standards, outcomes expectations, and the operational infrastructure required to sustain performance as the market tightens. Attendees will leave with a clearer framework for evaluating “next big” opportunities—what to pursue, what to avoid, and what signals to watch before placing a bet.

Demonstrating ROI on Strategic Investments

In a tighter capital environment, strategic investments have to do more than sound smart—they have to show measurable return. This panel breaks down how leading behavioral health organizations evaluate and prioritize investments that drive real ROI, from technology and infrastructure to workforce, access, clinical programming, and expansion initiatives. Panelists will share how they define “return” (margin durability, growth, payer performance, risk reduction, valuation impact), what timelines are realistic, and which investments tend to underperform once implementation meets reality. Attendees will leave with practical frameworks for decision-making: how to build the business case, what metrics to track, how to avoid “nice-to-have” spend, and how to align investment choices with growth strategy, payer expectations, and future diligence.

Payer Landscape Workshop: Winning Networks, Rates, and Referral Durability in 2027

Payers are reshaping behavioral health networks—and the providers who win in 2027 will be the ones who can pair strong clinical delivery with clear operational proof and a disciplined contracting strategy. This interactive workshop is designed to help leaders translate today’s payer environment into an actionable plan for strengthening network position, improving contract performance, and protecting referral durability. Participants will work through practical frameworks for evaluating in-network vs. out-of-network strategy, preparing for negotiations, and reducing friction across medical necessity, prior authorization, and utilization management. The session will also focus on the “proof points” payers increasingly expect—access, continuity, outcomes, and documentation quality—and how to package that information in a way that supports rates, renewals, and long-term network stability. Attendees will leave with a clear set of next steps for the next 90 days and beyond, including a contracting prep checklist, a payer-risk assessment template, and a prioritized action plan to improve performance with top payers. Ideal for CEOs, CFOs, COOs, contracting leaders, and clinical operations leaders responsible for payer relationships and growth. This workshop is facilitated by Eric Bailly, whose experience includes 15 years at Elevance Health and leadership at the Alliance for Addiction Payment Reform.
