Best Clinical Practices in the Use of CTPs

Cellular and/or tissue-based products (CTPs) comprise an exciting and emerging technology in wound care. Understanding importance of wound bed preparation principles are critical for success of CTPs. Wound care physicians, providers and nurses should also know when this CTPs are not appropriate to use (i.e necrotic and infected wounds where CTPs are not beneficial or in patients with extremely large wound where STSG may be more appropriate). With the rapid evolvement of technologies and their significant therapeutic potential, the importance of understanding ethical and regulatory implications is essential in the efforts to standardize practices around the world.  The impact of these considerations in the wound care field are evaluated in this session.
