Hormone Replacement Therapy in Menopause: Safety, Patient Selection, and Dermatologic Considerations

Menopause affects the skin, hair, mucosa, and vulvar health in ways that are often under-recognized in dermatology practice. This session reviews hormonal influences on xerosis, barrier dysfunction, pruritus, hair changes, vulvar dermatoses, genitourinary symptoms, and skin sensitivity. Emphasis will be placed on practical evaluation, treatment options, patient counseling, and coordination with gynecology when symptoms extend beyond routine dermatologic care.
