Angel has been a dedicated nursing professional since 1997 and a member of the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) since 2007. For the past 11 years, she has served as a Director of Wound Management
Since 2014, Angel has been the Course Coordinator for the WOCN’s Wound Treatment Associate (WTA) program and served on the WTA Committee for five years. She is currently a member of the WOCN Society’s Education Committee and is honored to serve as an ANCC Nurse Planner.
Angel’s leadership extends internationally as well. She previously served on the NPIAP International Task Force and is currently a stakeholder contributing to the development of the NPIAP International Guidelines.
She also serves as a delegate to the World Wound Healing Congress, and in 2022, Angel was honored with a 25-Year Service Award recognizing her long-standing commitment to nursing. Her expertise has been shared both nationally and internationally, with presentations in Canada, Dubai, and even to Congress at the U.S. Capitol.
A prolific author, Angel has been published in several respected journals, including Ostomy Wound Management (OWM) and the Journal of Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing (JWOCN). In 2020, she received the JWOCN Manuscript of the Year award.
