Dr. Narayan is Professor of Medicine, Director of the NIH T32 Computational Medicine Program (CHIP), Director of the Atrial Fibrillation Program and Co-Director of the Arrhythmia Center at Stanford University. Sanjiv is a cardiac electrophysiologist focused on atrial fibrillation (AF) and ventricular arrhythmias, who uses bioengineering, computational methods and artificial intelligence to develop novel patient therapies. He trained in medicine, computer science and data science at Birmingham UK, UCLA, Harvard/Mount Auburn, Washington University and the University of California Berkeley. His group has been funded continuously since 2001 by the U.S. National Institutes of Health. In 2022. Dr. Narayan received the Distinguished Scientist Award from the Heart Rhythm Society. He is a dedicated mentor and one or more trainees in his group have won a research prize or grant every year since 2003.
