Brent Wilson
MD, PhD

Brent D. Wilson, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist specializing in advanced cardiac imaging at Intermountain Heart Institute where he works as a member of a cardiology team that has garnered national recognition for quality healthcare outcomes. Dr. Wilson earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Stanford University School of Medicine and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Genetics from Stanford University. Dr. Wilson completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah Medical Center, followed by dual fellowships focusing on cardiovascular disease and advanced cardiac imaging. He was co-founder of the Advanced Cardiac Imaging fellowship at the University of Utah where he was Professor of Medicine and Radiology. Dr. Wilson served as Section Chief of General Cardiology/Imaging, Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging, Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory, DIrector of Cardiology Clinical Services, and Director of the Cardiovascular Center at the University of Utah. Dr. Wilson was one of the original members of the Comprehensive Arrthymia Research and Management (CARMA) Center, which was a unique collaboratoration of cardiac electrophysiologists, imaging cardiologists, MRI physicists, and basic scientists, focused on realizing the potential of cardiac MRI in the noninvasive diagnosis and treatment of cardiac patients, especially those with arrhythmia. In 2023 Dr. Wilson joined Intermountain Healthcare where he hopes to use advanced cardiac imaging to benefit patients throughout the Intermountain system.
