Edip Gurol
MD, MSc

Dr. Gurol is an associate professor of neurology at MGH/HMS. He directs the High Hemorrhage Risk Stroke Prevention Clinic where he manages patients who have high ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. Dr. Gurol’s main research focus is the prevention of stroke and cognitive dysfunction in patients with brain small vessel diseases and atrial fibrillation. He has over 200 scientific publications and he gave invited talks at over 100 major international conferences. His h-index is 61 Dr. Gurol is the founding chair of the World Stroke Organization’s Cerebral Small Vessel Disease & Vascular Cognitive Impairment task force and the neurocardiology section editor of American Heart Association’s Stroke and JACC-Advances journals.
