Dr Hugh Calkins is the Catherine Ellen Poindexter Professor of Cardiology and Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He also is the Director of the Clinical Electrophysiology Laboratory andthe Arrhythmia Service. Dr. Calkins graduated Magna Cum Laude with Highest Honors in Chemistry from Williams College. He then attended Harvard Medical School before training in Internal Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He received his cardiology fellowship training at Johns Hopkins. Dr Calkins trained in electrophysiology at Johns Hopkins and at the University of Michigan. His first faculty position was at the University of Michigan. He returned to Johns Hopkins as Director of the Clinical Electrophysiology Laboratory and Arrhythmia Service in 2002. Dr Calkins has published more than 700 manuscripts and more than 50 book chapters. He is recognized nationally and internationally for the pioneering role he has played in the development of radiofrequency catheter ablation for treatment of cardiac arrhythmias as well as for his research on arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia. Dr Calkins received 1st prize in the NASPE Young Investigator Competition in 1988. . Dr Calkins has been recognized for his clinical excellence by Best Doctors in America, America’s Top Physicians, and Baltimore Magazine. Dr Calkins serves on the editorial board of Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm, the Journal of Interventional Electrophysiology, and the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology. He served as President of the Heart Rhythm Society from 2014-2015.

Dr. Lior Jankelson, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Dr. Jankelson is also the Director of the Inherited Arrhythmia and Cardiovascular Genetics Program at the Heart Rhythm Center, NYU Langone Health. Additionally, he serves as Lead AI in Cardiology.
His educational journey includes an M.D. and a Ph.D. in Biophysics, all from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel.
A physician-scientist, Dr. Jankelson focuses on developing and applying statistical and computational methods to diverse datasets to gain new diagnostic and therapeutic insights into heart rhythm diseases. This work involves creating machine learning algorithms for EKG analysis, advanced data analytics for mapping and ablation systems, and computing for genetic cardiology.
Beyond his academic and clinical roles, Dr. Jankelson has engaged in entrepreneurial activities, and he is regularly serving on advisory boards of leading biomedical companies.
In his clinical practice, as director of the Inherited Arrhythmia/CV Genetics Program, he has built a team that uses advanced computational analytic tools to improve genetic medicine, assisting cardiologists throughout the NYU Langone Health system in better characterizing and treating patients with heritable cardiovascular conditions.
Dr. Jankelson has a significant publication record, including numerous peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals such as the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Nature Medicine, and Heart Rhythm. He has also contributed to book chapters and holds several patents related to biophysical compositions and cardiac electrophysiology devices.

Dr. Eue-Keun Choi is a professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Seoul National University College of Medicine and Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul, Korea. He graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine, received his PhD from the same institute, and completed his residency and cardiology fellowship at Seoul National University Hospital. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at Indiana University School of Medicine, USA (Dr. Peng-Sheng Chen) and a research fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, USA (Dr. William G. Stevenson).

His research interests were the mechanism of atrial fibrillation (AF), the autonomic nervous system on cardiac arrhythmogenesis, stroke prevention of AF, and new technology in diagnosing and treating AF. Dr. Choi has published more than 340 peer-review research papers. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS), Asian Pacific Heart Rhythm Society (APHRS), European Society of Cardiology (ESC), European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), Korean Heart Rhythm Society (KHRS), and Korean Society of Circulation. He serves as the Director of the Scientific Committee for both the Korean Society of Cardiology and the Korean Heart Rhythm Society, and the Scientific committee chair for the APHRS 2026 Busan.

Professor Sanders is a clinical academic based at the Adelaide University & Royal Adelaide Hospital. He is the Director of the Centre for Heart Rhythm Disorders at the Adelaide University, Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Professor Sanders holds the Heart Foundation Chair of Cardiology.
