Rod S. Passman, MD, MSCE is the Jules J. Reingold Professor of Electrophysiology, Professor of Medicine and Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is the Director of the Northwestern University Center for Arrhythmia Research and Principal Investigator of Northwestern’s Strategically Focused Research Network Grant from the AHA and the NIH-funded REACT-AF trial. Dr. Passman has been an attending physician in cardiac electrophysiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital since 1998.

A prolific author and international lecturer, Dr. Natale has contributed hundreds of publications to the fields of pacing and electrophysiology and has spoken at over 900 conferences worldwide. He previously served as Editor in Chief of JICE and currently holds leadership roles as Chief Editor of JAFIB, Deputy Editor of Europace, and President of Venice Arrhythmia. He also directs several premier educational programs, and created the EPLive global series held in Austin, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, and India.

Before joining TCAI, Dr. Natale served at the Cleveland Clinic as Section Head of Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology and Medical Director of the Center of Excellence for Atrial Fibrillation, where he was bestowed upon twice the Innovator Award for Innovation by the Cleveland Clinic Bakken Heart-Brain Institute.

Dr. Natale’s groundbreaking work includes developing a circumferential ultrasound vein ablation system for AF and performing this procedure on the world’s first five patients. He introduced some of today’s most widely adopted catheter based treatments for AF and was the first electrophysiologist in the nation to perform percutaneous epicardial radiofrequency ablation for patients who had not responded to conventional therapies.

A dedicated innovator and researcher, Dr. Natale continues to advance the treatment of atrial fibrillation through emerging technologies, including robotics and highly specialized ablation systems.
