Christopher Liu

Dr. Liu is currently Associate Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and the Medical Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology Services for the New York-Presbyterian - Weill Cornell Network. He also leads the Complex Arrhythmia Ablation and Structural Heart Electrophysiology programs at Weill Cornell Medicine.
Dr. Liu was born in southern China and raised in New York City. After training in EP Fellowship at UPenn, Dr. Liu joined the faculty at Weill Cornell in 2008, where he has led successful programs in epicardial VT ablation, Lariat device closure of the left atrial appendage, cryo-balloon ablation for atrial fibrillation, Watchman and Amulet device closure of the left atrial appendage, physiologic conduction system pacing, and most recently pulsed-field ablation (PFA) for atrial fibrillation. Dr. Liu is a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Cardiology. He has dedicated increasing time to volunteer duties at the Heart Rhythm Society, with 3 years on the Reimbursement and Regulatory Affairs Subcommittee (including 1 year as Chair), followed by 3 years as Chair of Health Policy and Regulatory Affairs - where he led interactions between the EP community and the FDA, CMS, and other regulatory agencies, advocating for optimal patient access to arrhythmia care by EP experts. Dr. Liu continues to serve as HRS Advisor to the CPT Panel since 2022, and is part of the HRS Safety Alert Rapid Response Team - crafting recommendations for medical device advisories. Dr. Liu has started a 3-year term on the HRS Board of Trustees.

John Day

Dr. John Day graduated from medical school at Johns Hopkins University. He did his residency in internal medicine, cardiology, and cardiac electrophysiology fellowship training at Stanford University.

Dr. Day currently serves as head of cardiovascular services for the Mountain Star HCA Healthcare System. He has an extensive clinical practice focusing on atrial fibrillation at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dr. Day previously served as president of the Heart Rhythm Society and is the immediate past president of the Utah chapter of the American College of Cardiology. He also previously served as the physician leader of Heart Rhythm Services for Intermountain Healthcare. He is recognized as an international thought leader, regularly speaking at medical conferences worldwide on the latest developments in treating atrial fibrillation.

Dr. Day is board certified in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. He has published more than 100 manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters. Dr. Day is the former editor-in-chief of the Journal of Innovations in Cardiac Rhythm Management.

In 2017 Dr. Day published The Longevity Plan: Seven Life-Transforming Lessons from Ancient China, with Harper Collins as publisher. The Longevity Plan was an Amazon number one bestseller and was named a "best book" of 2017 by the Huffington Post and won the Nautilus Book Award Gold Medal for the best book of 2017. Dr. Day’s second book, The Atrial Fibrillation Cure, was also an Amazon bestseller in 2021 and was published by BenBella Books.

Walid Saliba

Dr. Walid Saliba is a staff cardiologist in the Section of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Saliba is also the Medical Director of the EP lab and Director of the Atrial Fibrillation Center. He is trained in all aspects of clinical cardiac electrophysiology and pacing, including catheter ablation, epicardial access, LAA occlusion, implantation of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators and extraction of implanted pacemaker and ICD leads using laser technology.
A native of Lebanon, Dr. Saliba did his undergraduate work at the American University of Beirut, continued at the American University and earned his medical degree. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic. He moved to the United States where he completed an internship and residency program in internal medicine at Duke University, a fellowship in Cardiology from Baylor College. The Cleveland Clinic awarded him a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and he was appointed to Cleveland Clinic as a staff cardiac electrophysiologist in 1999.
Dr. Saliba’s research has focused on topics related to new treatments of atrial fibrillation, stroke prevention strategies and pericardial ablation. He has been a guest lecturer and authored or co-authored numerous articles in leading scientific journals.
Dr. Saliba is a member of the American College of Cardiology and fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society.

Stavros Stavrakis

Dr. Stavrakis is a clinical electrophysiologist and physician scientist at the University of Oklahoma Health Campus, where he also serves as the Director of Electrophysiology. His research has focused on autonomic modulation for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, in both animals and humans. He has been continuously funded since 2012, from various sources, including the American Heart Association and the NIH. He has published >150 manuscripts over the last 10 years, in prestigious Cardiology journals, including Circulation, Circulation Research and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. The significance of his work is being increasingly recognized and he has been invited to present in national and international meetings on this topic. He has mentored numerous fellows and junior faculty over the last 15 years.

Kamala Tamirisa

Kamala P. Tamirisa, M.D., FACC, FHRS, FAHA, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Cardiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and serves as Director of Electrophysiology Research. A cardiac electrophysiologist, Dr. Tamirisa specializes in atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, advanced device therapy, conduction system pacing, cardiac resynchronization therapy, and arrhythmias in pregnancy. Her research focuses on arrhythmia management, access barriers to electrophysiology care, health care disparities, and workforce gaps in cardiovascular medicine. She is actively involved in national leadership as an HRS BOT member, as well as in advocacy, education, and mentorship within cardiology and electrophysiology.

Paul Zei

Dr. Paul C. Zei is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Mass General Brigham - Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA USA, where he is Director of the Atrial Fibrillation Program. He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, also in Boston. Dr. Zei is a graduate of Stanford University, after which he completed postgraduate training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

His clinical interests are in atrial fibrillation and complex arrhythmia management. He is a founding leader of the BWH Atrial Fibrillation Center of Excellence. He performs complex ablation and device implantation, with a focus on atrial ablation. His research interests include advanced mapping technologies, new ablation technologies, machine learning in electrophysiology, fluoroscopy elimination techniques, intracardiac echocardiography, and non-invasive stereotactic cardiac radioablation.

Dr. Usman Siddiqui graduated from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He started his internal medicine training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, prior to completing Cardiology fellowship training at the University of Miami. Dr. Siddiqui then went on to complete an additional fellowship in Electrophysiology at University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital. Since completing his training, Dr. Siddiqui has gone on to gain extensive experience in the field of electrophysiology. He serves as the lead electrophysiologist for Advent Health Florida’s EP division, as well as for the Central Florida Cardiac and Vascular Institute. Moreover, he is the Director of Electrophysiology at Advent Health Celebration and Nicholson center in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Siddiqui is also involved in academics, teaching, and consultation. As Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Central Florida, Dr. Siddiqui plays an active role in educating medical students, residents, and fellows to shape the next generation of physicians. Additionally, he works as a consultant and in physician training and serves on the Advisory Board for several leading medical device companies and “startups”. He is actively involved in several IDE trials with the Advent Health Cardiovascular research foundation. Dr. Siddiqui is also the director of cardiovascular services at the Nicholson center and program director for several innovative educational programs and hands-on training to elevate operator skills and expertise.
