Professor Sanders is a clinical academic based at the University of Adelaide, Royal Adelaide Hospital. He is the Director of the Centre for Heart Rhythm Disorders at the University of Adelaide, Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Professor Sanders holds the Heart Foundation Chair of Cardiology.
With an H-index of 111, he has published more than 780 peer-reviewed manuscripts, cited over 94,000 times and has been awarded several accolades including the Distinguished Clinical Scientist Award for 2024 by the Heart Rhythm Society, Kempson Maddox Lecturer 2024 by the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, RT Hall Prize by the CSANZ, and Eric Susman Prize from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians for the best contribution to the knowledge of any branch of internal medicine.
