Mohamed Elshazly

Dr. Elshazly is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Orlando Health and leader of electrophysiology services in its North Zone. He is an adjunct assistant professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and cardiac electrophysiology at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Elshazly also earned a master’s degree in biotechnology enterprise and entrepreneurship at the Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences in Baltimore.
His research interests include atrial fibrillation, digital health and artificial intelligence, with a focus on the clinical applications of wearable devices in cardiovascular care and arrhythmia management. He has published more than 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including JAMA, JACC, Circulation, Heart Rhythm and Nature Reviews Cardiology. He has received several research awards and grants and has led clinical trials in digital health.
