Jenny Gerace
Program Specialist II - MATTERS Outreach Coordinator
New Jersey Department of Health

Jenny Gerace entered the EMS field in early 2023 as a 911 EMT in Camden, NJ. During her time there, she played a key role in establishing their EMS Harm Reduction Program, ensuring every ambulance was equipped with backpacks stocked with daily essentials, harm-reduction supplies, and resource information. She also helped introduce educational tools for EMS providers on SUD, withdrawal, harm reduction strategies, and MAT. In recognition of her dedication to the Camden community, Jenny received the Red, White, and Blue Hero Award from Camden County, and the NJ OEMS Director’s Award at the 2024 National Conference on EMS. In August 2025, she joined the New Jersey Department of Health - Division of Disaster Preparedness, Resiliency, and Emergency Medical Services, in Trenton, NJ. She serves as a Program Specialist and the Southern NJ Outreach Coordinator for MATTERS NJ: an electronic rapid-referral system connecting individuals to MAT with follow-up support and wraparound services – making getting help easier, breaking down barriers, reducing stigma, and meeting people where they are, with dignity.
