Brian D. Barash, MD serves as Chief Medical Officer of Advanced Recovery Systems (ARS), overseeing clinical quality and medical leadership across a national network of addiction treatment facilities. He is triple board-certified in General Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Barash completed his medical training at the University of Kansas and went on to serve in senior leadership roles across multiple psychiatric hospital systems, contributing to the development and expansion of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. Over the course of his career, he has focused extensively on the treatment of substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.

In his current role, Dr. Barash leads system-wide clinical governance, quality oversight, and physician engagement across diverse patient populations, including individuals with complex addiction and mental health needs. He has a particular interest in advancing measurement-based care, strengthening outcomes tracking, and ensuring that emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence—are implemented ethically, transparently, and in alignment with patient safety and equity principles.

Dr. Barash advocates for responsible innovation that enhances access, improves care continuity, and supports clinicians, while safeguarding vulnerable populations and maintaining the integrity of the therapeutic relationship.
