Patricia (Trish) Freeman is Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Science and holds the Schutte Endowed Chair in Pharmaceutical Policy at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. She is a faculty Associate in Center on Drug and Alcohol Research and the Kentucky Injury Prevention Research Center. Her research is largely focused on medication use policy, with a specific emphasis on substance use policy.  Of particular interest is identifying strategies to engage pharmacists as partners to improve substance use disorder prevention, treatment, and risk reduction. Dr. Freeman received her BS in Pharmacy and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy.
