Laura B. Monico, PhD, is the Director of Research and Innovation at Boulder Care, a national telehealth provider delivering evidence-based, stigma-free addiction treatment with a focus on opioid use disorder. She leads a portfolio of research, strategy, and policy initiatives aimed at aligning care delivery with contemporary understandings of substance use and recovery.

Dr. Monico’s research encompasses a diverse and influential body of work investigating opioid use disorder, medications for addiction treatment, and systems-level approaches to care innovation and delivery. She has led and contributed to studies supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIH/NIDA), Arnold Ventures, Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, and Bureau of Justice Assistance, with a focus on expanding access, improving retention, and advancing equity in addiction care.
