In January 2024, Chris Evans was appointed to the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission as the Chair and Executive Director by Attorney General Russell Coleman. In this role, he oversees the distribution of the state’s portion of more than $900 million from settlements with opioid manufacturers. Chris has a B.A. and M.A. from Rutgers University and previously served as the first Special Agent in charge of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) efforts in Appalachia. He later served as DEA’s Chief of Operations where he led global enforcement operations and created nationwide programs to combat drug trafficking, violent crime, and illicit opioid distribution networks. Chris resides with his wife in Louisville, Kentucky.
