Seema L. Clifasefi, PhD, LICSW is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the Harm Reduction Research and Treatment (HaRRT) Center at the University of Washington–Harborview Medical Center. Her research lies at the intersection of substance use, mental health, criminal legal involvement, and housing policy. For nearly two decades, she has partnered with communities with lived experience of substance use to co-create and evaluate programs and interventions that are aimed at reducing substance related harm, improving quality of life and promoting dignity, autonomy, and well-being for people who use substances.
