Jason Bordelon
B.S. Chemistry, M.S. Chemistry
Program Manager
DEA Office of Forensic Sciences

I graduated from Furman University in Greenville, SC with a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 2000, and a master's degree in chemistry in 2001. I worked as a research assistant at Furman until 2002, then worked as a certified pharmacy technician at Walgreens Pharmacy until 2003 when I began as a forensic chemist at the DEA's Southwest Laboratory in Vista, CA and worked there until 2018. During that time I analyzed thousands of seized drug exhibits, testified in federal and state courts as an expert witness, and assisted in processing numerous clandestine drug laboratories. In 2018, I began work as a Chemistry Group Supervisor at the DEA's North Central Laboratory in Chicago, IL. There I supervised forensic chemists and assisted in laboratory operations. In 2022 I started work as a Program Manager at DEA Headquarters in Arlington, VA and have primarily worked on the DEA Lab system's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and data management and sharing with various DEA, outside law enforcement, and public partners. My focus in data sharing since 2022 has been on counterfeit pills.
