Joshua Black is a multidisciplinary scientist, integrating data science into modern pharmacoepidemiology. He is the lead statistical scientist at Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Safety, and he researches drug-related population health using online survey panels, high dimensional statistical methods, and generative artificial intelligence. His primary research interest is in expanding the epidemiologic toolbox by developing new methods to answer previously unanswerable questions. He is a principal investigator and co-investigator generously funded by FDA and NIH. Dr. Black was trained at the University of Denver School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, earning his PhD in biophysics in 2013. He was further trained in a joint postdoctoral appointment at the Departments of Engineering and Pharmacology at the University of Colorado in 2014. He lives and thrives in Denver, CO.
