Courtney Maynard, a native of Eastern Kentucky, has spent the past 14 years serving her community by helping residents find solutions to multi-generational issues such as substance misuse and mental health stigma.
Ms. Maynard joined Operation UNITE in October 2017, helping to launch the KY HELP Statewide Call Center, the first facility of its kind in Kentucky. As a Screening & Referral Specialist, she connected individuals and families with resources addressing SUD. She later served as Training Manager for the call center until October 2022, when she was selected to fill the newly created position of Prevention Programs Coordinator. In 2024, she was named Education Director, and in May 2025 was promoted to Deputy Director.
Prior to joining Operation UNITE, Ms. Maynard acted as a Substance Use Counselor for a facility supporting the recovery of pregnant women, worked as a family preservation specialist, and served as a child protective services investigator for the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
A resident of Johnson County, Ms. Maynard earned a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University. She is a board member for the Eastern Kentucky ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) & SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) support group, helping raise awareness of the needs of neurodiverse children and bringing sensory-friendly events into local communities.
Ms. Maynard is committed to advocating for individuals whose voices are not often heard and works to elevate awareness of community disparities. She is the mother of two children, Christian and Piper.
