Robin Thompson
DrPH, MPH

Dr. Robin Thompson serves as the Director of Research and Evaluation for the Fletcher Group. A health behavior promoter and preventive medicine advocate, she received her Master’s in Public Health with concentration in Health Behavior and her Doctorate in Public Health with concentration in Epidemiology from the University of Kentucky’s College of Public Health in 2014 and 2019, respectively. She also received a certificate in Program Evaluation from Washington University in 2022. As a doctoral student, she served as a fellow within the occupational epidemiology core of the Central Appalachian Regional and Education Research Centers, funded through the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. During this time, she led a multi-state effort to assess and address occupational illicit drug exposure among Southeast based first responders. Additionally, throughout her research career thus far, Dr. Thompson has conducted several epidemiological studies with emphasis on prevention and reducing health disparities. She’s supported research addressing hearing healthcare access, to investigating syringe service program barriers for individuals experiencing substance use disorder and examining systems and service needs supporting health insurance literacy among rural populations. Her most recent work focuses on assessing the effectiveness of various recovery support service interventions for individuals with substance use disorders at all ecological levels.
