Dr. Jan Losby is the Branch Chief for the Health Systems and Research Branch in CDC’s Division of Overdose Prevention. Dr. Losby conducts applied health systems research, implements evidence-based prevention efforts, and supports state and community public health efforts to reduce overdose and related harms. Dr. Losby is responsible for advancing the implementation of CDC’s 2022 Clinical Practice Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Pain. Dr. Losby works with healthcare systems on linkage to and retention in care, quality improvement, electronic clinical decision support tools, and data system integration with electronic health records.
