Nancy Young
MSW, PhD

Dr. Nancy Young is the Executive Director of Children and Family Futures, a research and policy institute whose mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect while improving safety, permanency, well-being, and recovery outcomes with equity for all children, parents and families affected by trauma, substance use and mental health disorders. Since 2002, she has served as Project Director of the National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare, an initiative of the Children’s Bureau (CB), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Since 2010, she has served as the Project Director of the Office on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention’s (OJJDP) Training and Technical Assistance Program to improve outcomes for families through Family Treatment Courts. Dr. Young holds a PhD and an MSW from the University of Southern California, School of Social Work.
