Jessica Schwartz is a dedicated and award-winning healthcare professional specializing in addiction medicine. As Program Manager at Essentia Health, she leads strategic initiatives to integrate substance use disorder care into primary healthcare settings. Her work focuses on delivering direct patient care to people who use drugs, while also developing comprehensive workflows, policies, and staff education to support sustainable, evidence-based practices within a large healthcare system.
Jessica studied Political Science at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and a nursing degree from Northwest Technical College. She earned her Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) credential in 2021, further underscoring her commitment to improving care for individuals affected by substance use.
Her work has been recognized through numerous honors, including the Steve Rummler Hope Network 2024 Community Impact Award, the Essentia Health Evidence-Based Practice, Research, and Innovation Award in 2023, and the Essentia Health Justice Award in 2022. Jessica brings a unique combination of policy insight, clinical experience, and leadership to her role, advancing equitable, compassionate care for vulnerable populations.
