Linda Mahoney

Linda Mahoney is the Senior Administrator for the RI Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH).
She oversees significant initiatives for the Department including the developing and monitoring of new state and federal programs. She serves RI as the Principal Investigator for the SAMSHA State Opioid Response grant, along with being the designated RI State Opioid Treatment Authority which has programmatic and clinical oversite of all RI Licensed SUD and Opioid Treatment Programs.

Linda is a Licensed Advanced Addiction & Drug Counselor as well as being Licensed as a Chemical Dependency Clinical Supervisor. She has been a clinician in the Behavioral Health field since 1987 and has consulted for Brown University’s Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies and has authoring several published studies, including a BMJ journal article titled “Interventions to reduce recurrent overdoses among individuals at high risk for overdose”. She is most honored to have been voted by her peers in 2019 to be elected as the President of the National Treatment Network for the National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Agency Directors.
