Marcia Goodman-Hinnershitz is the Director of Planning and Resource Development at the Council on Chemical Abuse, Berks County Single County Authority. Following her graduation from Pennsylvania State University, Marcia served as a Child Protective Services supervisor. She obtained her Master of Social Work at Temple University, and for over 30 years, she has assumed a variety of roles at the Council on Chemical Abuse, first as the Prevention Program Manager and currently as the Director of Planning and Resource Development. Throughout her career, Marcia has assumed a leadership role in the implementation of a variety of initiatives, including Student Assistance programming, tobacco prevention and cessation services, gambling prevention projects, and most recently, opioid prevention initiatives. Marcia follows the public health model of community empowerment to ensure that services are responsive to local needs.
