Maggie Dickson
MS, LCPC, LCADC, NCC

Maggie was born and raised in Northern Nevada and continues to live in the Reno/Sparks Community. She has worked for the Washoe County Sheriff's Office since 2002 starting as a Sheriff Support Specialist for Central Control and Booking. In 2008, Maggie was promoted to the Classification Office as a Specialist working with deputies to manage inmates incarcerated in the detention facility. Maggie worked closely with the acute mental health unit and helped manage inmates with mental health disorders. In 2019, Maggie became part of the Detention Services Unit and worked with a multidisciplinary team to start the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program in the detention facility. Presently, Maggie manages the program while providing individual counseling, treatment planning, case management, and discharge planning to participants. Maggie also interfaces with key stake holders in the community on a weekly basis to provide wrap around services for shared participants.

Maggie earned her Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Truckee Meadows Community College in 2011. In 2013, she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with Magna Cum Laude honors from Arizona State University. Maggie earned her Master of Science Degree in 2017 with a Specialization in Forensic Counseling from Walden University's CACREP accredited Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. To enhance her efforts to help incarcerated individuals with mental health and substance use disorders, Maggie earned an Advanced Certificate in Addictions Treatment & Prevention Services from the University of Nevada, Reno's Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT) Department.
