Amanda Chapman

Amanda Chapman began her career working in a domestic violence shelter as a victim’s advocate and advanced her skills while working in a child advocacy center as a family advocate, forensic interviewer, therapist, and Associate Director. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehead State University, a master’s degree in Social Work through the University of Louisville and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Kentucky and Indiana. Amanda transitioned to be the Victim Services Specialist in the Jeffersontown Police Department beginning in 2020, serving as the first social worker embedded in the police department and developing the first victim services program. In 2021, with her expertise, the department was able to expand social work services to hire two additional social workers to provide services to community members that are police involved due to substance use, mental health, and extreme poverty in addition to victims of crime.
