Keith Carter

Keith Carter has been with Nevada HIDTA since 2008, in roles including Training Coordinator, Program Manager, Deputy Director, and since 2015, Executive Director. Mr. Carter serves on national HIDTA committees including Director’s Committee and Financial Managers Group. Mr. Carter served as a board member on state and community groups including My Brother’s Keeper-Law Enforcement Task Force, Drug Free Community Coalition, Nevada Governor’s Multidisciplinary Prevention Advisory Committee, Southern Nevada’s Opioid Advisory Committee and Marijuana Council, and Sheriff’s and Chief’s Association.

Prior to serving in Nevada HIDTA, Mr. Carter enjoyed a distinguished law enforcement career beginning in California then serving 29 years with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). During his career with LVMPD he served in patrol, academy staff, SWAT, Narcotics, Sheriff’s Legislative Liaison, Internal Affairs, and Homeland Security/JTTF. Mr. Carter served 12 years as Vice-Chairman of the Police Managers and Supervisors Association. Mr. Carter received a degree in Criminal Justice.
