Dr. Scott Schepers, PhD is a psychologist by training and digital therapeutics expert with experience in researching and advancing clinical and scientific approaches to evaluate and treat mental health conditions using technology. Currently, he serves as a Senior Digital Therapeutics Medical Science Liaison at Otsuka. Prior to joining Otsuka, he was the Director of Field Medical Affairs at Pear Therapeutics, where he oversaw the education and scientific engagement efforts related to the first three FDA-Cleared Prescription Digital Therapeutics (PDTs).
Dr. Schepers trained as a research fellow of National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) within the University of Chicago’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience where his work forcused on psychopharmacology and behavioral addictions research. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Vermont, where his work focused on understanding the basic science mechanisms of behavioral relapse and their potential applications into interventions for addiction. His research has been published in a variety of scientific journals, including Biological Psychiatry, Psychopharmacology, and Plos One.
