Henry Nasrallah

Dr. Henry Nasrallah, a widely recognized researcher and educator, is Professor and Vice Chair for Faculty Mentorship at the University of Cincinnati. He did his psychiatric residency at the University of Rochester and his neuroscience fellowship at NIH. He served as chair of psychiatry for 12 years at The Ohio State University and as chair of both psychiatry and neurology for 6 years at Saint Louis University. He also served for 4 years as Associate Dean at the University of Cincinnati.

He is internationally recognized for his research in schizophrenia and related psychoses. He has published 14 books and 670 articles and served as Editor of 3 psychiatric journals. He is a distinguished life fellow of the APA and a member of numerous scientific organizations. He has received 95 federal, state, and industry grants. He has received numerous awards for both teaching and research including Golden Apple Teaching awards from 4 universities, the U.S. Educator of the Year from The Psychiatric Times, the Stanley Dean Award for schizophrenia from the American College of Psychiatrists, and the highest research award at The Ohio State University and the highest research award (The Drake Medal) at UC College of Medicine.

He is a mover and shaker in the field of psychiatry, having founded 4 psychiatric journals and established the only global schizophrenia society (SIRS) with 1800 members attending its annual congress. He has served as president of 6 professional organizations and was recognized by Reuter Media as one of the world’s most influential minds, ranking in the top 1% in the world in terms of his publications being cited. He also established a charitable foundation (curesz.org) with his former patient Bethany Yeiser, to advocate and support patients with serious neuropsychiatric disorders, and their families.
