James Balda is President and CEO of Argentum. In this role, Balda is responsible for the overall leadership of the Association and is charged with transforming the vision and mission of Argentum to meet the changing needs of the senior living industry.

Before joining Argentum, Balda served in several roles at the National Restaurant Association where he was responsible for advancing the association’s business development, insurance and financial services product strategy, focusing on enhancing the member value proposition and growing the membership base, transforming the association’s brand, marketing and communications activities and expanding relationships with state partners.

Before joining the National Restaurant Association, Balda served as Senior Vice President of Membership and Professional Development at America’s Health Insurance Plans. In this position, he was responsible for the association’s member services, professional training, customer service, and online media programs.

As an accomplished association professional, Balda brings a wealth of experience in developing proven member value strategies designed to grow and expand membership within the association.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of Maryland, College Park and lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and four children.
