Mike Sasser is the Captain over the ATCEMS Substance Use Programs. He is a Texas State certified Paramedic with over 30 years of experience in emergency response. Captain Sasser has worked in a variety of roles including US Navy Aircraft Crash Rescue in Yokosuka, Japan, Field Training Officer at Grady EMS in Atlanta, GA, Paramedic team lead with DMAT in New Orleans, LA in response to Hurricane Katrina , and has been with ATCEMS for 18 years. He has been with the Community Health Paramedic program for the past 9 years and oversees the Substance Use Programs including the Buprenorphine Bridge Program, OD Alert Program, and the Sobering Center Bridge Meds Programs since inception providing direct medical care and treatment to people struggling with Opioid Use Disorder in Austin, Texas.
