Dr. Beshayer Alrum, PhD, MSc, EMT-P, is a Chief Medical Studies Specialist at Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS), UAE. With nearly eight years of frontline EMS experience and almost two years in research, she bridges practical expertise with academic insight. She holds a PhD in Health Services from the University of Sheffield (UK), focusing on tailored interventions for post-traumatic stress among EMS personnel in multicultural contexts. Dr. Alrum also holds a Master’s in Health Policy and a Bachelor’s in Emergency Medical Services. A dedicated advocate for mental health, resilience, and peer support in emergency services, she founded and currently leads the DCAS peer support group. Her work emphasizes integrating evidence-based research into effective, real-world EMS strategies that enhance both patient outcomes and provider well-being across diverse operational settings.
